With the gifts of hundreds of volunteers and donors, Goodhue County Habitat for Humanity helps low-income families break the cycle of poverty by becoming successful homeowners.
Over the past several years, we have built homes in Lake City, Goodhue, Zumbrota, Cannon Falls, and Red Wing. Currently we have built a total of 35 homes in seven communities in our service area and expect build two more in 2017.
The research is clear.
In clean, safe and stable housing, home life and enviornment improve greatly for all members of the family. It promotes better health, physical safety, and security, while affording the opportunity for educational and employment advancement.
Good housing in our communities not only benefit the families who help build and then buy the homes with no interest mortgages from Habitat, but it improves the economic stability of the communities in which we build. Habitat for Humanity exists because of partnerships. We partner with volunteers and local businesses to supply labor and materials to build the homes. We partner with the families as they invest their sweat equity and then go on to pay the mortgage. And we partner with individuals like you through your contributions.
Please consider a gift today to support the work of Habitat in Goodhue County.
